The purpose of Unique Families’ Journey Foundation, Inc. is to empower, educate, and advocate for black and brown families and children with exceptional needs so they can better access educational support and resources to close the existing gaps in the education system. Unique Families’ Journey values embracing every family uniqueness with integrity, compassion, understanding, accountability and authenticity.

Dasia and Nova
“During a pivotal moment in their lives, I had the fortune of meeting Dasia, and her 2-year-old daughter, Nova, who is beautifully unique with autism. We connected over the shared joy that our children were chosen for an exceptional preschool program in Bridgeport offered by CES. However, Dasia harbored concerns about Nova’s care, fearing she might not receive the tailored support she required.
I reassured Dasia, promising her that as Nova’s unwavering advocate, I had connections that could offer the guidance we needed. This led to introducing Dasia to Kevin, a seasoned advocate whose expertise was invaluable. Kevin lived up to the assurances I provided Dasia, offering her and Nova the supportive guidance they needed every step of the way.
Dasia expressed her gratitude by highlighting my advocacy, a sentiment echoed by Kevin, which opened doors for me to contribute further through a parent volunteer program named PATH. This journey has not only seen Nova thrive, receiving all the essential services, but it has also solidified a lasting bond between Dasia and me. Her willingness to stay in touch and seek assistance is a testament to the trust and support we’ve built together.”

“At a local community event, I had the heartwarming opportunity to meet a family grappling with their son’s battle against severe eczema. The boy’s distress was palpable, marked by his incessant scratching. Moved by their situation, I approached them with genuine concern and empathy, inquiring about their son’s well-being. This moment of connection was deeply personal for me, as I, too, have navigated the challenges of eczema with my own son.
The impact of that encounter came full circle when, a month later, the family reached out to express their heartfelt gratitude. The recommendations and community resources I shared significantly alleviated their son’s eczema, bringing him much-needed relief.”
